History

The cemetery church of St. Helena in Gornja Nugla was restored in 1614. As early as 1405, the residents of Nugla acquired the Misal kneza Novaka for the church. The manuscript later served as the textual basis for the first printed Glagolitic missal, published in 1483.

Vedetta di Moccò and Vedetta di S. Lorenzo are located in the wider regional surroundings of Gornja Nugla. The Nugla climbing area can be reached by driving through Roč to Gornja Nugla and continuing uphill toward the edge of the Ćićarija. It comprises a cave sector and a newer sector with sport climbing routes of varying difficulty secured with bolts.
