Culture

Sovinjak is a historic hilltop settlement with a linear settlement pattern that expands into a central square with a church. Its cultural heritage includes the Renaissance bell tower of St. George, the Gothic Chapel of St. Roch from the early 16th century with murals created by Domenicus Utinensis in 1571, a granary from 1647, as well as preserved Baroque and Neoclassical houses and palaces.

A scenic view extends from the plateau next to St. George's Church. A church in Sovinjak is also used several times for concerts of sacred art.

The official cycling route 513 TARTUFINA runs along the Buzet–Sovinjak–Istarske Toplice–Buzet route through Sovinjak and continues in the direction of Brnozi and Sirotići. The route is 34.7 kilometers long, classified as difficult, and includes 12.5 kilometers of asphalt and 22.2 kilometers of gravel.

Gastronomy

A local tradition holds that the Roman empress Livia Drusilla drank only Pucinum wine from Sovinjak. Every year at the beginning of October, Sovinjak hosts the Bela nedeja, where wine and sparkling wine are sampled. The town is also known for its olive oil production.
