Cerovlje: Hotels and Accommodation

Cerovlje is home to the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary; it also has a carnival tradition and opportunities for cycling, walking, picnicking and fishing. Culture and History

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Cerovlje dates back to the 15th century. It contains surviving fragments of frescoes by an unknown master from the time of its construction. A Glagolitic inscription carved into a millstone is also built into the south façade.

The Parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary contains a gilded chalice from the 16th century. Cerovlje also has a carnival tradition that revives older carnival customs. By 2026, the event Sopci i kantaduori had reached its 29th edition.

The history of transport is also part of the local character: the construction of the Divača–Pula railway line in 1876 increased Cerovlje’s importance.

Nature and Activities

Freshwater fishing is possible at the Cerovlje ponds with an acquired permit. The ponds also provide a setting for walks or picnics amid a green landscape.

For cycling, the Staza vodopada (614) route is part of the regional trail network. It is a 39-kilometre circular cycling route of moderate difficulty from Pazin back to Pazin. On its circuit between Pagubica and Pazin, the route passes through Cerovlje.
