The Istra - Martinčići Natura 2000 site is characterized by meadows and arable land at the foot of wooded hills. The Natura 2000 site HR2001485, Istra - Martinčići, is associated with Martinčići and covers 23.99 hectares. The site's conservation target is the Adriatic lizard orchid, Himantoglossum adriaticum.

Cycling

The official Istria-Bike Route 4, titled Oprtalj and Authentic Flavours of Rural Istria, passes through Martinčići. It is described as taking 4:00 to 4:30 hours and includes 38.1 kilometers of asphalt and 1.2 kilometers of gravel.

A road cycling route through northwestern Istria also passes through Martinčići, between Oprtalj and Grožnjan. The route through the village is described as following one of the least trafficked roads in the region. On the final section toward Grožnjan, there are stretches with gradients of more than 12 percent.

Culture

The Church of Saint Florian stands between Martinčići and Kave. It dates from the late Romanesque period of the 14th century. Every year, the inhabitants of Martinčići and the surrounding settlements gather there for a Mass dedicated to the saint.
