Dolenja Vas is described as an area with fertile fields and pastures; as a result, the settlement has the character of a rural agricultural landscape. Routes from Dolenja Vas lead to mountain peaks with views over the Istrian peninsula, the Kvarner Gulf, Velebit and Gorski Kotar. History
Dolenja Vas is associated with the former Lupoglav estate. The settlement was first mentioned in 1523 as Niederdorf and developed as a rural part of Lupoglav Castle Estate.
