Semić: Hotels and accommodation

The 7 km Semić–Brest–Semić hiking trail begins at the old school in Semić, leads to the Pod Šćikovico viewpoint, passes through forests and meadows, and returns via Brest. On foot, the route takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes. Those wishing to book a hotel in Semić can continue their accommodation search afterwards.

Nature

The Lupogliano–Mahrenfels hiking trail runs from Lupoglav through Semić and Kras and back to Lupoglav. After passing through Pristava, the route climbs towards Semić via a set of stairs. Above Semić is a viewpoint offering views across the Istrian landscape. It is intended for visitors and day-trippers seeking relaxation.

The Učka–Semić area is classified as a significant landscape in the northern part of Učka. The Semić–Brest hiking route includes the Pod Šćikovico viewpoint and the Nad Krog viewpoint. Pod Šćikovico is an equipped resting place with views of Lupoglav and the surrounding area. Nad Krog is an equipped resting place with views towards Vranja, Boljun and the wider regional surroundings. Istrian cattle can be seen grazing in the meadows around Semić.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint Lawrence in Semić was built in the second half of the 18th century and has a bell tower on its façade. Below the chapel is an information board with a hiking map.

Semić was first recorded in 1327. After the fall of Klis, Dalmatian refugees were settled in Semić and the surrounding villages.

Traditions

Lovrečeva is a folk festival held in Semići within Lupoglav. The annual celebration includes a cultural programme and dancing. Žbravoada is a traditional dish from Semić, described as a stew made from fresh cabbage.
