The second section of the Camino Krk runs through MilovÄići: the stage leads from Sveti Anton through MilovÄići to Kremenići and ends in Malinska. The Camino Krk follows existing hiking trails on the island and is 150 kilometres long. Officially, it is part of the European network of Camino routes dedicated to Saint James. Trails
The Camino Krk is divided into seven pilgrimage chapters and marked with distinctive blue-and-yellow Camino signs. For the second day, a route from Brzac to Malinska covering 22.9 km with 452 m of ascent is specified. It uses asphalt, gravel and forest paths and is described as taking approximately 6–7 hours to walk.
The KRK Bike 412 “Putevima svetaca†is a 20.3 km cycling route with 360 m of ascent. Its published route includes MilovÄići; it combines gravel and asphalt sections.
Culture
MilovÄići is one of the villages in Poganka, one of the three historic village groups of DubaÅ¡nica. A mission cross stands at the turn-off to MilovÄići; it was erected in 1863 following parish missions. It marks the place where a new parish church had been planned.
Local Character
In the wider regional area, the Dubašnica ethnographic zone is structured by dry-stone walls and contains stone threshing floors that reflect its agricultural and pastoral heritage. The area consists of open-type settlements with stone houses, traditional tiled roofs, vaulted entrances and stone steps.
Cuisine
Handmade Å urlice with beef goulash are described as one of the characteristic dishes of the island of Krk.
