Geographical Setting

The traditional livelihoods of Dubašnica include olive growing, viticulture, and livestock farming. The historical centre of Dubašnica shifted from Dubašnica to Bogovići and later to Malinska.

Culture and History

At the turn-off to Radići stands a votive cross, erected in 2000 to replace an earlier wooden cross. Radići belongs to Dubašnica’s historic group of villages known as Dolinja sela. The historic settlement pattern of Dubašnica comprises three village groups – Dolinja sela, Gorinja sela, and Poganka – with Radići located in Dolinja sela.

The Rural Ensemble of Sv. Vid was registered as a cultural monument in 1976. The ensemble also includes an oil mill and a blacksmith’s workshop. The Chapel of St Vitus was first mentioned in 1451 and later served a pastoral function in Sv. Vid between 1887 and 1890.

The Dubašnica Heritage House is a rural house from the mid-19th century, built for two families and reflecting the area’s agricultural and livestock-based way of life. In the Dubašnica field, the cemetery and the original bell tower of the former parish site of St. Apollinaris still remain as reminders of earlier times.

Nature and Routes

Dubašnica’s cycling routes run from the coast through centuries-old oak forests and inland through olive groves. They are described as suitable for families because the elevation differences are relatively small and reach up to 240 metres.

The official cycling route B412 – Putevima svetaca is designated by the route name Radići–Rasopasno–Strilčić. The B412 mountain biking route includes a visit to the Church of St Peter in Gabonjin. A forested section of the B412 leads to the remains of the Chapel of St Nicholas, dating from the 14th century; the route also passes the Cickini Archaeological Collection.

Connections and Local Cuisine

Malinska is connected by bus to Rijeka and other places on Krk. Sv. Vid Miholjice, the access point for the B412 route, is connected to Malinska and Krk Town by local bus services.
