Nature and Trails

The name Križišće reflects its location at a crossroads of routes: the roads lead toward the Vinodol Valley, Krk and Kraljevica, Gorski Kotar, and Hreljin in the direction of Bakar and Rijeka.

The “Stazama naših nona” hiking trail passes through Križišće. The marked route is 10.7 kilometers long and suitable for all age groups. The Mrtvačev put, by contrast, is a narrow, steep path associated with historic funeral processions from Kraljevica to the Gradina of Hreljin.

Sacred Sites

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Križišće is designated as a religious monument. When the church was built in 1910, its tower was designed with rooms for clocks. On July 18, 2026, three clocks were blessed on the tower of the parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In the vicinity of Križišće, the Church of the Holy Trinity stands between Bakarac and Križišće. It is open only three times a year: on the feasts of the Holy Trinity, Saint Roch, and Our Lady of the Rosary.

Culture and Water

Freshwater springs in Križišće and nearby settlements made it possible to build a local water supply system in 1905. Along the coast, traditional communal washing places made of stone blocks were built where these springs flowed into the sea. These washing places are called perila.
