Two marked circular hiking trails with different landscapes run through Šmrika. The 10.7-kilometre circular hiking trail “Along the Paths of our Nonas” leads from Kraljevica along the waterfront promenade to Bakarac, then through Šmrika and Banj and back to Kraljevica. The trail is described as easy and suitable for all age groups. The marked 11-kilometre circular trail “Our Landscape” also passes through Šmrika: it runs through the forest and along the sea between Nova Kraljevica Castle, Banj, Šmrika, Črišnjeva, Uvala Scott and Kraljevica and is described as easy.

Plaža Pesja, Biserujka, Medveđak and Jelenčić are located in the surroundings of Šmrika. Each of the places mentioned is assigned to the surrounding area of Šmrika.
Activities
Kartodrom Bura is an enclosed go-kart track in Šmrika. The track is 822 metres long, 8 metres wide at the starting line and 7 metres wide on the inside. Kartodrom is also described as suitable for supermoto, mini moto, scooters and small formula cars.
Farma Magaraca in Šmrika offers family visits that include petting or riding donkeys and an educational programme. Educational visits for kindergarten and school groups cover animals, the Šmrika area and local traditions.

The section of the “Tracing Frankopan Footsteps” route towards Šmrika and Križišće connects to the historic Karolina caravan road. “Cave Šmrika” is one of the surrounding places where Bronze Age artefacts, including a stone hammer, were found.
Local cuisine
OPG Lucić in Šmrika offers its own locally produced donkey’s milk. A modern dessert variation is based on a traditional recipe from Šmrika. Almond shells were used to prepare tea; dried figs were sometimes added for a fuller flavour.
