Loviste: Hotels and Accommodation

Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Lovište can then continue searching for accommodation. Lovište stretches for approximately four kilometres along a bay. The bay’s sea is described as usually being one or two degrees warmer than elsewhere on Pelješac.

Culture

The Heart of Mary Chapel in Lovište dates from 1928 and was reconstructed in 1995. The Lovišće Lighthouse was built in 1874. It stands on the Lenga Peninsula northwest of Lovište and is registered as a cultural heritage asset under reference RST 1424.

The traditional construction site Ključ 1 comprises dry-stone boundary walls and a small tool shed built entirely using dry-stone construction techniques. Near Mirca, close to Lovište, there are remains of a wall belonging to a building from Roman times. Uvala Runca is listed northwest of Lovište as a potential underwater archaeology zone.

Landscape

The traditional construction site Ključ 2 comprises dry-stone boundaries adapted to cultivation; olive groves still remain in parts of the area. Above Kosirača, Ključ 3 comprises dry-stone boundaries around olive groves, which are still actively cultivated.

Coast

Swimming and sunbathing are possible at the local beach in Lovište. There is a shower and changing rooms there. A shop, café and restaurant are just a few steps from the local beach. Beach activities include kayaking and beach volleyball.

In the nearby area, Mirce Bay is described as a well-protected refuge for sailors and passing vessels.

Local

Lovište is associated with olive oil from groves containing more than ten thousand olive trees; restaurants and taverns offer opportunities for dining. Local production of figs, almonds and carob is also associated with Lovište.
