Culture and History
The archaeological zone includes the former Roman military camp of Burnum and the civilian settlement that developed from it. Burnum consists of the remains of a Roman military camp in Ivoševci. It served as the headquarters of Rome’s XI Legion and later the IV Legion. Burnum was built in the 1st century.
The Roman complex also includes an amphitheatre. It is estimated to have accommodated between 6,000 and 10,000 spectators and was built as a foundation of Emperor Vespasian. Archaeological finds from Burnum are displayed in the Burnum Archaeological Collection at the Krka Eco Campus in Puljane.
Burnumske ide features a fair where visitors can learn about aspects of ancient Roman life. Burnumske ide has been organised every summer in Burnum since 2011.
Nature
The Manojlovac waterfall is located nearby on the Knin–Kistanje road near Burnum. Manojlovac is another site within Krka National Park and can be reached by road via Kistanje and Ivoševci. There is a car park near the remains of the arches of Burnum’s command building.

Burnum can be reached by road. Visitors should follow the signs to Kistanje and then to Ivoševci.
