Zečevo: Hotels and Accommodation

Kula Zečevo stands on the hill that gives it its name, at an elevation of 325 metres. Kula na Zečevo is the ruin of a lookout tower on a hilltop; its location offers views across large parts of the surrounding area. History

The Kula na Zečevo ruin can be reached by leaving the A1 at Pirovac, following the D59 towards Knin, turning towards Zečevo before Kistanje, and continuing along the road. The final approximately 200 metres lead along an unpaved gravel road; free parking is available nearby.

Nature

Roški slap, near Zečevo, consists of main waterfalls 22.5 metres high, with numerous channels, cascades and tufa islands. Roški slap near Zečevo is reached on the right bank of the Krka by following the signs to Kistanje, then to Laškovica and onwards to Roški slap. Also near Zečevo, Manojlovački slap reaches a total height of 59.6 metres; its highest tufa barrier measures 32.2 metres.

Oziđana pećina on the Stinice trail near Zečevo contains an archaeological collection in situ. It is the only cave in Krka National Park open to visitors and documents continuous human presence from 6000 to 1500 BC. The Stinice–Roški-slap–Oziđana-pećina trail features educational panels about flora, fauna, geological phenomena and cultural and historical sites.

The Pištavac trail near Zečevo leads downhill through dense greenery to the water, accompanied by the sounds of birds and amphibians.

Culture

Burnum, near Zečevo, is a Roman military camp built during the transition from the old era to the new era. Visitors can see the arches of the command building, a Roman military amphitheatre and the walls of the military training ground. Burnum contains the only military amphitheatre in Croatia. Archaeological finds from Burnum are exhibited at Eko kampus Puljane.

The archaeological site and archaeological collection of Burnum are open to visitors all year round. Burnum can only be reached by road.

The watermills at Roški slap near Zečevo are recognised as ethnographic monuments of Dalmatia and Croatia. Visitors can see watermills, columns and a loom there.

Trails

Krka Monastery near Zečevo can be reached by road or on an organised boat trip from Roški slap. Early Roman catacombs beneath the church of Krka Monastery are open to visitors. An organised boat trip from Roški slap leads to Krka Monastery and the ruins of the Trošenj and Nečven fortresses.
