Culture

Šibenik Cathedral is a UNESCO-listed stone-built cathedral constructed between 1431 and 1535. It is distinguished by a unique construction of vaults and a dome, as well as by a frieze featuring 71 carved faces, and combines Gothic and Renaissance art.

The historic St. Michael’s Fortress overlooks Šibenik’s old centre, St. Anthony’s Channel, the bay and the mouth of the Krka River. The restored site includes an open-air stage with 1,077 seats for evening events. St. Michael’s Fortress can also serve as a convenient starting point for a city route leading down through Šibenik’s historic centre towards the cathedral and other attractions.
