Betina: Hotels and accommodations

In Betina’s local harbor, the open-air museum showcases around 46 traditional wooden boats arranged by type and size. Information panels and an interactive totem provide details about individual boats. The permanent exhibition of the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding comprises eight collections. History

Betina’s historic center is protected as a cultural monument and consists of old stone streets and closely spaced stone houses. The Hrelić Tower is a defensive structure dating from 1514 at the entrance to Varoš and is now integrated into a private house. The Baroque Church of Saint Francis of Assisi dates from 1601; its bell tower, built in 1752, was designed by Ivan Skoko.

Culture

Betina-Gajeta is part of the area’s maritime history: it was developed as a sturdy peasant boat with a lateen sail and adapted to local transport needs. The Zora cultural and artistic association preserves Betina’s traditional circle dances, including Balambrin (Kolo na križ) and Kolo od kanate.

Beach

Beach Zdrače is a sandy and gravelly urban beach near the center of Betina. The beach has areas for sunbathing, showers, and a coffee bar.

A trail designated as Route 2 by the tourist board runs through Lovišća, Betina, and Murter.

Water

Punta Diving is based in Betina and offers dives in the Croatian Kornati National Park as well as at shipwrecks in the Adriatic. The sailing school in Betina is aimed at children aged 8 to 12 and also welcomes holidaymakers who want to acquire basic sailing skills.

Events

Betina hosts the Regata za dušu i tilo every year, a competition featuring traditional wooden boats. Dan brganje is an annual, all-day festival held on the first Sunday in August in honor of the tradition of gathering shellfish.
