Blaca: Hotels and Accommodation

Paths

A designated cycling route named “Blaca” runs from Širina Park in Solin via the riverside path along the Jadro, Rupotine, and Ninčevići to the village of Blaca. The route is 9.50 kilometres long and has three rest areas, including one in Blaca. The Solinski planinarski put includes the Prijevoj Blaca at an altitude of 525 metres as its seventh checkpoint. A hiking trail also leads from Vrata kod vrha Škrabutina to Blaca; it is approximately 1.34 kilometres long.

History

Blaca has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The largest and best-preserved tumulus is located on Umac at an altitude of 483 metres; it measures approximately 17 metres in diameter and 3 metres in height. In Blaca, about 100 metres east of Gospe od Zdravlja, there is a group of three late-medieval stone houses.

Sacred Sites

The Church of Saint George on Kozjak stands at an altitude of 677 metres and has an old cemetery with stećak tombstones. The Church of Gospe od Zdravlja is located in the hamlet of Blaca behind Kozjak and was probably built shortly before or shortly after the First World War. A Mass is celebrated in the church on the Feast of Our Lady of Good Health. A road had been established to provide car access to Gospe od Zdravlja.

Classification

Dalmatia lies in the vicinity of Blaca. The surrounding area of Blaca includes the Archaeological Museum, the Mestrovic Gallery, and Diocletian's Palace. Lisac, Darišica, Kičere, and Perun are also located in the surrounding area. Debela Glava and Sveti Mihovil lie in the vicinity of Blaca.

Events

The fourth edition of the international extreme enduro event Game of Stones was scheduled for 11 and 12 November. The start and finish were in the Blaca Valley, and the course was 27 kilometres long.
