Choteč: Hotels and accommodations

In the center of Choteč stands the Zemědělský dvůr, a large traditional Baroque estate. The complex preserves the remains of a fortress. These include a tower now used as a cellar and an enclosing wall that reused a medieval fortification.

Culture and history

The early Baroque Church of St. Catherine stands on a hill in Choteč and offers views of the surrounding area. It has two unusually low towers. The northern tower's lower level contains a chapel dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk with a cloister vault.

A statue of St. Catherine and St. John of Nepomuk from 1764 stands in Choteč's village square. Hradiště Na zámkách features fortification remains of uncertain age, including a rampart and a moat.

Mlýn U Veselých has complete mill machinery from the first half of the 20th century. It has rusticated Baroque-style gables and is a historical and architectural monument.

The surroundings of Choteč include Karlštejn Castle, Letohrádek královny Anny, Palác Kinských, and The Golz-Kinsky Palace.

Landscape

Mount Doutnáč is located in the surroundings of Choteč. The islands of Veslařský ostrov, Slovanský ostrov, and Střelecký ostrov are also located nearby. Near Choteč, the Radotínský potok has cut a deep riverbed into the landscape.

Cycling

Route 8100, “Pražské kolo,” is a 131-kilometer circular route around Prague. It runs mainly along roads with low to moderate traffic and partly along dedicated cycle paths.
