Nature and landscapes
At Průhonice Park, landscapes, historic views, and ponds come together. The park is a Czech national cultural monument and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors have 25 km of paths at their disposal. The park can be explored with a paper map or the SmartGuide app; guided tours can be booked.
Culture and history
The Way of the Cross at Skalka comprises 14 chapels and is freely accessible year-round. Weddings, exhibitions, concerts, and other cultural events take place in the Skalka Baroque complex. Skalka became a pilgrimage site after 1762 and a tourist destination from the late 19th century onward.
Mníšek pod Brdy Castle showcases representative salons from the period of the First Republic. A second castle tour presents private aristocratic rooms and the everyday life of the nobility. The castle tours also include the roof structures and towers with views. The castle park at Mníšek pod Brdy features lavender, flowers, and fountains.
Trails and excursions
The Svatojánské proudy nature trail begins in Štěchovice and runs for 9 km along the forested banks of the Vltava to Třebenice. At the Slapy Reservoir, swimming, time at the beach, and excursions into the surrounding landscape are possible. An easy circular route around Jílové follows part of the Jílovské vyhlídky nature trail.
A hiking route from Řevnice to Skalka passes Lesní divadlo and leads through deciduous forest; a detour to Babka is possible. The route offers views over the surrounding Brdy forests. The Okoř castle ruins are a destination for tourists and cyclists and can be reached by car or public transport. Jílové u Prahy can be reached from Prague by direct buses running several times an hour.
Food and brewing culture
Pivovar Kytín has an open brewing area on the ground floor of its restaurant. Pivovar Řevnice is located directly next to Řevnice railway station. It serves traditional Czech cuisine and brews Řevnická 10° and Řevnická 12°. Its brewery experiences include a day with the brewer and a home-brewing course.
Pivovar Řevnice is located in a former railway station building that was converted into a brewery. The former waiting room is used as a pub with classic railway benches.
