Vonoklasy: Hotels and Accommodation

In Vonoklasy, Okolím Vonoklas is a circular route in the form of an educational trail that runs along the northern edge of the village and focuses on the Český kras Protected Landscape Area, nature and the landscape.

Paths and Viewpoints

The educational trail passes the wooden wayside chapel of P. Marie, dating from 1893. Five tourist routes meet at the Na návsi signpost in Vonoklasy. Velká skála lies near the northwestern section of the educational trail and serves as a viewpoint. Karasova vyhlídka is located at the southwestern end of the educational trail and is a paragliding launch site.

Nature and Geology

At the former Ve skále quarry, an exposed rock face reveals folds between the Silurian and Devonian periods; the site also has a relatively rich fossil fauna, particularly trilobites and bivalves. Ecosystems consisting of deciduous forests, forest-steppe and steppe formations, as well as scree slopes with numerous protected plant and animal species, have been preserved in Vonoklasy. The pedunculate oak protected as a natural monument is estimated to be around 600 years old. U louže is a small body of water where communities of aquatic plants and animals have been preserved.

History and Architectural Heritage

The first written mention of Vonoklasy dates from 1227. The neo-Gothic Chapel of St. Wenceslas on the village square dates from 1887 and has a bell tower.

The former Baroque farmstead No. 12 is the only cultural monument in Vonoklasy. It comprises a residential building with a log-built core, a decorative gateway and a freestanding wooden granary on a stone base. The surviving wooden building of the former farmstead No. 12 has served as a granary since the beginning of the 19th century.
