Kuňovice can be characterized by specific historical and geographical facts: the first written mention of the village dates back to 1412. Javornická hůra is the highest peak in the vicinity of Kuňovice. It lies 2 kilometers north of Kuňovice and reaches 583 meters above sea level.

History

A chapel stands in the village square of Kuňovice and is considered a defining landmark. It was built in 1908 and repaired later. A monument to those who fell in the First World War is also located in the village square.

The former fortress of Kuňovice stood on the site where houses with numbers 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 26 now stand. The rotunda was originally Romanesque and was later remodeled in the Baroque style.

Cycling

Kuňovice is listed as a village on the 31-kilometer “Vlašimské aleje” cycling route. The route is intended for trekking and mountain bikes and runs mainly along field and forest paths, as well as partly along roads.
