Sudovo Hlavno: Hotels and Accommodation

Since 2013, the educational trail Naučná stezka vladyky Sudy has led through the landscape of Hlavno. One of the trail's information boards is located at U Písečáku: from Sudovo Hlavno, it can be reached in the direction of Dřísy by turning onto an asphalt road about 100 metres beyond the village.

Nature

The landscape in the cadastral area of Sudovo Hlavno lies at the easternmost edge of the Polabian Lowland. The lowland is bordered to the north by the Dlouhý běh forest. The Cecemín ridge is a significant landscape feature in the area of Sudovo Hlavno. The well-known recreational area around the lakes Lhota, Ovčáry and Konětopy is also located near Sudovo Hlavno.

Geographical Location

The only road, III/2752, runs through the area of Sudovo Hlavno and leads from the Motorest U Čtyř kamenů via Hlavenec to Kostelní Hlavno, Mečeříž and Chotětov.

Culture and History

The first written record of the village of Sudovo Hlavno dates from 1386. The bell tower Zvonička s obecní váhou on the village square was built in 1905. At the end of 2007, it was restored based on a historical photograph; the doors and windows were replaced in the process.

Traditions and Events

Masopust is one of Sudovo Hlavno's traditional annual customs and is attended by both locals and visitors from elsewhere. Traditional customs associated with Easter in Sudovo Hlavno include řehtání, the jidáši hitting unmarried girls with willow switches, and Monday Hodování.

Turnaj o Sudův pohár is a family event featuring a historical battle between several teams. The Novoroční běh is one of the public events held in Hlavno throughout the year and is attended by both locals and visitors from elsewhere. As part of the Naše Hlavno project, it was agreed that children would learn how to weave a pomlázka.
