Tuhaň: Hotels and Accommodation

The Elbe Cycle Route, Labská cyklotrasa No. 24, runs directly through Tuhaň. Tuhaň is an old village in the Polabí region near the right bank of the Labe on slightly elevated, firm ground; the surrounding area is sandy, loose and not very fertile.

Nature

The Úpor-Černínovsko Nature Reserve stretches along both banks of the Labe between Neratovice and Mělník and includes floodplain forests, floodplain meadows and former river channels. It protects natural eutrophic waters, floodplain meadows in river valleys, extensively mown lowland meadows, floodplain forests, as well as populations of specially protected plant and animal species. Part of the Úpor-Černínovou European Site extends into the cadastral area of Tuhaň.

At the eastern edge of Tuhaň lies the Písčina u Tuhaně Nature Monument. It covers approximately 0.43 hectares and has been protected since 2007 because of its exceptionally well-preserved sand grassland communities. These communities belong to the Thero-Airion and Corynephorion canescentis alliances; typical species include the sand plantain (Plantago arenaria) and grey hair-grass (Corynephorus canescens).

The hill “V Mikově” [Malý Újezd] is located in the vicinity of Tuhaň. Nearby are the hill “(U Skály) [Malý Újezd-Jelenice]”, Hostinná Hill [Hostín u Mělníka] and Cecemín SE Hill [Všetaty].

Culture and Routes

The traditional pilgrimage event “Setkání přátel aneb den plný her a pohody” is considered one of the municipality’s central cultural activities in Tuhaň. The Blaník–Říp Pilgrimage Route, Poutní cesta Blaník–Říp, leads from Neratovice to Tuhaň via a 4.4 km section. The Tuhaň Educational Trail, Naučná stezka Tuhaň, begins and ends as a circular route in Tuhaň village square.

Ostrov Castle, Zámek Ostrov, is located in the vicinity of Tuhaň. The Church of St. Adalbert, U Svatého Vojtěcha, is located near Tuhaň. In the wider regional surroundings of Tuhaň are the Stará kanalizační čistírna Praha-Bubeneč Museum and Queen Anne’s Summer Palace, Letohrádek královny Anny.
