Výžerky: Hotels and accommodations

Výžerky lies in the valley of Čertova brázda, which runs from Sázava to Kouřim. The village is predominantly surrounded by coniferous forests; in the immediate surroundings lies the hill of Obícka [Lhotky u Malotic]. The hills of Kamenka [Horní Kruty-Újezdec], (Na Marjánce) [Zvánovice], and (Na kopci) [Zvánovice] are also located in the vicinity of Výžerky.

History

Archaeological findings show that the area around Výžerky was already inhabited 5,000 years ago, during the Neolithic and Late Stone Age. The first historically documented mention of Výžerky dates from 1339. Since 1558, Výžerky permanently belonged to the Černokostelec estate; from 1623 to 1848, the village belonged to the Liechtensteins.

Culture and village character

The wooden bell tower of Výžerky is first documented at the beginning of the 19th century and is considered a monument of folk architecture. The stone cross on the village square in Výžerky dates from 1858. The bell tower stands west of the village center of Výžerky next to the stone cross and is freely accessible.
