Podolanka: Hotels and Accommodation

The name Podolanka was first mentioned in 1658 in reference to an inn located in a valley near Jenštejn. It probably relates to the local landscape, a narrow valley through which a stream flows.

History and Culture

The history of today’s municipality of Podolanka encompasses the history of the three formerly independent neighboring municipalities of Cvrčovice, Kostomlátky, and Podolanka. In Cvrčovice, there is the heritage-listed church complex of Stětí sv. Jana Křtitele, with a Baroque entrance gate, a mortuary, an enclosing wall, and several cemetery gravestones.

The Podolanka memorial to the fallen of the First World War commemorates seventeen citizens of the municipality and was unveiled on May 29, 1921. There are also two niche chapels built before 1680 along State Road II/610. They belong to the so-called Svatá cesta (VIA SANCTA) from Prague to Stará Boleslav. Výklenková kaple XXX is located along a road on the western side of Podolanka. Výklenková kaple XXXII is situated along the Podolanka–Dřevčice road on the northern side, on the road toward Podolanka.

Routes and Places

Cycle route 8196 runs through Podolanka, connecting Podolanka with Brandýs nad Labem. At Rybník Jordánek, there is an information board with information ranging from the beginnings to the present day, as well as fishing regulations.
