Zlenice: Hotels and Accommodation

Zlenice Castle stands on a promontory at the confluence of the Mnichovka stream and the Sázava River.

Culture and History

The first written mention of Zlenice Castle dates back to 1318. The most prominent surviving part of the castle is the large Hláska tower.

The „Oživlý středověk“ charity festival is held annually in the grounds of the Zlenice castle ruins. The focus is on medieval crafts from the time of Charles IV; at the same time, the festival supports the conservation of the Zlenice castle ruins. Visitors can sample flatbreads, for which they first grind the flour in a grain mill.

Nature and Trails

The „HLÁSKA“ ferry operates across an approximately 65 m wide stretch between Senohrabská plovárna and Zlenice.

The third section of the „Vodnické vycházky“ route is 4.5 km long and runs along the right bank of the Mnichovka to the Sázava River. At its end on the Sázava, visitors can reach Zlenice Castle with the Hláska tower.

An approximately 40 km section of the „Cyrilometodějská stezka“ cycle route leads from Sázava via Zlenice with the Hláska tower to Čerčany.

Railway and Landscape

The Posázavský Pacifik serves the Zlenice stop on the line between Čerčany and Světlá nad Sázavou. The Posázavský Pacifik takes visitors to sights and museums and travels through an attractive landscape along the Sázava River.
