Vidonice: Hotels and Accommodation

The defining landmark of Vidonice is the Church of St. John the Baptist, a protected cultural monument. It stands on a slope above the village and is an oriented single-nave building with an oval chancel termination. The tower is crowned by an onion dome with a lantern. Mass is celebrated in the filial church only for pilgrimages and the church festival.

Landscape

Vidonice lies at an elevation of 460 m in a shallow depression on the southern slope of a long, partially forested mountain ridge. A stream rises at the foot of the ridge, flows through Vidonice and, after the confluence, bears the name Bystřice.

The protected natural monument Kalské údolí also includes the cadastral area of Vidonice. In the valley, the Bystřice River winds between trees and meadows. Camping in the meadows or near the water is prohibited there.

History and Orientation

The historic mill in Vidonice, house number 33, also had a sawmill. Between Vidonice and U Borovičky stands the Rašínská lípa commemorative lime tree, about 100 m to the right of a right-angled left turn in the direction of the industrial zone.

Cycling route No. 4096 runs from Pecka to Horní Brusnice.
