Podbřezí: Hotels and Accommodation

A fortified manor with farm buildings has been documented on the site of today’s Skalka Château since the early 14th century. The state-owned Skalka Château is a registered immovable cultural monument in the cadastral area of Podbřezí.

The Jewish cemetery near Skalka was established at the end of the 17th century and contains 92 gravestones. It is freely accessible. The Zlatý potok educational trail introduces visitors to the municipality of Podbřezí’s most important historical monuments, Skalka Château and the Jewish forest cemetery. Visitors can reach the Jewish cemetery via a footpath along the Zlatý potok.

The Skalecký háj Nature Reserve consists of a preserved mixed oak-hornbeam forest with a diverse community of protected species. The protected Turk’s cap lily and Italian arum each grow in stands of many hundreds of plants in Skalecký háj. The Skalecký háj Nature Reserve can be visited on a hike along the Zlatý potok in Podbřezí.

SK Skalka organizes more than ten fixed-date events every year, mainly sports tournaments for adults and children. In spring, SK Skalka traditionally hosts rock concerts attended by people from Podbřezí as well as from surrounding villages and towns.

Every June, SK Skalka organizes an open-air disco and rock event on the sports field, featuring unusual competitions for visitors. Before Easter, the club hosts the “Oskalecké štamrple” schnapps tasting, where locals taste and rate samples provided by their neighbors.
