Dolní Nivy is located on the Lomnický potok in the mountainous region of northwestern Bohemia. The Rudenský Špičák, Komáří vrch, Čertova hora and Chrudim mountains are located in the surrounding area.

Cycling Routes

Regional cycling route 2044 between Sokolov and Carlsfeld runs through Dolní Nivy. The route is 36 kilometres long, classified as difficult, and runs predominantly along Class III roads and local roads. It is suitable for trekking and cross bikes.

Another connection is cycling route 2043 between Kraslice and Dolní Nivy, which is shown on the Euregio Egrensis cycling map.

History and Remembrance

The oldest surviving written historical mention of Dolní Nivy dates from 1353. According to tradition, a knight's seat once stood where houses number 1 and 2 stand today.

In the Dolní Nivy district, the monument to the victims of the First World War stands about 50 metres from the municipal office. It is a tall natural-stone monument with a stone cross at the top. A memorial plaque with a German inscription and the names of fallen residents is set into the monument.

Sports and Other Places

The multifunctional sports field in Dolní Nivy is suitable for tennis, volleyball, nohejbal, handball, football, basketball and other ball games.

In the wider regional area around Dolní Nivy is Schlackenwerth Monastery. Bad Brambach, St. Michaelis, a church, is also located there. Finkův mlýn historically served as a sawmill for processing logs; the building also historically housed an inn.
