The Přírodní park Smrčiny nature park around Hranice also encompasses varied terrain for hiking and cycling. Several long-distance cycling routes intersect here. EuroVelo 13 passes through Hranice, reaches the Czech Republic at Trojstátí and connects with cycle route 2058 near Pastviny. Cycle route 2057 begins at the Ebmath border crossing, leads through the center of Hranice and via Pastviny toward Aš and Skalka u Chebu. Cycle route 2058 begins near Krásňany, runs through the center of Hranice to Trojstátí and connects with EuroVelo 13 near Pastviny and with cycle route 2057 near Aš.

Another cross-border route is the Mockelbahn cycle path. It begins at Hranice railway station and follows the former Mockelbahn railway line through dense forest, passing the former Freiberg railway station, to Adorf in the Vogtland region. It is 8.52 km long.

The roots of the Protestant Church of St. Martin in Hranice date back to the 14th century. It was extensively rebuilt in 1719, when the nave was given its Romanesque design. Its furnishings include an original clock mechanism from 1881, which is considered a technical monument. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary acquired its present pseudo-Romanesque appearance in 1894.

The Knihovna a Muzeíčko houses a small local museum that shares its premises with the adult library. The building also contains an information center and a café on the ground floor.

The former settlement of Kaiserhammer originated at the beginning of the 15th century as a water-powered hammer mill specializing in the processing of iron ore. In the surrounding area, remains of an iron ore adit have been preserved at the former site, commemorating this industrial past.

Hranice lies in the landscape of the extensive Přírodní park Smrčiny nature park. It extends across the Karlovarský kraj, particularly the Ašský výběžek, and also reaches into neighboring Germany.

Nearby, Bystřina – Lužní potok encompasses natural dystrophic lakes and ponds as well as moisture-loving tall-herb fringe communities. Species found there include the marsh fritillary, brook lamprey and freshwater pearl mussel. At the freshwater pearl mussel breeding center in Huschermühle, visits are offered by prior arrangement, focusing on the conservation of the freshwater pearl mussel.

Nearby, the historic main boundary stone I/1 marks the Czech-Bavarian border and bears the year 1844. In the former cemetery of Trojmezí, two graves are still preserved in a wooded setting near preserved war memorials.

Nearby, a stone reconciliation cross stands at a crossroads of paths toward Prex, Hranice and Trojstátí, next to a stone bridge. The Old Cemetery in Studánka contains mainly old German gravestones, which bear witness to the town’s earlier history and culture.
