Stružinec: Hotels and Accommodation

Stružinec lies in the valley of the Žlábek stream, through which the signposted KČT cycling route No. 4174 runs from Lomnice nad Popelkou via Stružinec, Košťálov, Benešov u Semil and Jablonec nad Jizerou.

Nature and Trails

The valley is surrounded by the Hůrka and Stránsko hills and, to the northwest, by the Mákové vrchy hills. Hůrka offers a view over a large part of the Český ráj. Near Bezděčín, the red-marked Zlatá stezka Českého ráje hiking trail runs through the area. The surroundings of Stružinec offer ideal conditions for cycling, running and hiking, as well as cross-country skiing when snow conditions are good.

Culture and Events

In the lower part of Stružinec, a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a small hill on the left side of the road toward Lomnice nad Popelkou–Košťálov. It is carved from porphyritic red sandstone. The present-day Stružinec bell tower was built from red sandstone in 1843; in 2022, a bell was returned to the bell tower with the help of a public collection and donations from local residents.

The stone sculptural group of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary in Stružinec was created in 1855 in the Neo-Gothic style. It depicts the seated Virgin Mary being crowned by God the Father and Jesus Christ; above them, the Holy Spirit hovers in the form of a dove. The sculptural group is considered one of the highest-quality monuments of its kind in the Semily area.

The Masopust procession is a popular event in Stružinec.
