Bradlecka Lhota: Hotels and Accommodations

Bradlecká Lhota lies at the foot of a hilly massif on which the ruins of Bradlec and Kumburk castles are located. In the vicinity of Bradlecká Lhota, several surviving walls and the remains of a square tower are visible at the Bradlec ruins.

Landscape

The fields around Bradlecká Lhota are considered rich in semiprecious stones, especially agates. Nearby, the summit of Kumburk reaches 642 meters and offers extensive views of the surrounding area. In the vicinity, Tábor is a long, wooded hill with an elevation of 678 meters that shapes the surrounding landscape. A lookout tower on Mount Tábor near Bradlecká Lhota provides further views across the landscape.

Culture and History

At the southern end of Bradlecká Lhota, the statue of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary stands at a crossroads of field paths. It is approximately 4 meters high and carved from light-colored fine-grained sandstone; it can be reached via two stone steps. The inscription on the pedestal gives the year 1850.

The Chapel of Saint Ludmila in Bradlecká Lhota was built in 1901 in the Historicist style. The village also has the sculptural group “Coronation of the Virgin Mary” from 1850. Theater has been performed in Bradlecká Lhota since 1900.

Villagescape and Remembrance

The former timber-framed Dolení or Babákův water mill, house no. 41, is located in Bradlecká Lhota. It was first mentioned in writing in 1568. A fragment of the mill machinery with a remarkable gear mechanism in the lower structure has been preserved in the mill room.

Bradlecká Lhota has a number of timber-framed cottages with carved gables dating from the 19th century. A memorial plaque at the former school commemorates the teacher and regional historian Josef Jan Fučík.
