Horní Studénky: Hotels and Accommodation

Horní Studénky is situated in a gently rolling landscape ranging from hilly terrain to uplands, with permanent grasslands. There are forests on steep slopes and in valleys, while the valley floors are cool and damp.

Water and Nature

There is a reservoir before Horní Studénky in the direction of Svébohov. It is used for fishing and also serves as a place for local people to swim. At the opposite end of the village from the reservoir is a pond created in 1964. It covers 1.26 hectares and is used for fish farming; it is located about 1 kilometre beyond Myslivecká chata.

There are two game enclosures in the immediate vicinity of Horní Studénky: one for keeping red deer and one for keeping fallow deer and mouflon.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

Three marked hiking trails run through the municipality of Horní Studénky. The blue trail leads to the Church of Saint Leonard in Horní Studénky and leaves the village via Příčnice in the direction of Klášterec. The red trail runs north of Králova hora through a valley to Sychrov Pond and continues from there to Jakubovice.

Two cycling routes also pass through the village. Cycle Route 6229 leads from Jedlí from the southwest to Horní Studénky, continues to the church and then via Sychrov in the direction of Písařov. Cycle Route 6231 comes from Štíty to Horní Studénky and runs through the municipality.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Leonard in Horní Studénky was built in its present form in 1666. With its surrounding wall and ambits, it is a registered immovable cultural monument. The church ambits were built in 1734 to protect pilgrims from bad weather.

The column with a statue of the Most Holy Trinity is also a registered immovable cultural monument in Horní Studénky. At the lower end of the village, there is also a rustic chapel made from a tree trunk, which is associated with a local legend about the fortunate discovery of a statue of the Virgin Mary.
