Oskava: Hotels and Accommodations

A large part of the Oskava municipal area lies within the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area. Much of the area is covered by forests and hills with significant differences in elevation; the Oskava River flows through the municipality.

Nature and Activities

Marked hiking trails lead from the Bedřichov district of Oskava to Rabštejn Castle. There are climbing rocks there with routes of varying difficulty levels. In winter, cross-country skiing from Rabštejn towards Skřítek is possible. Cycling route 6032 also passes through Oskava.

During the season, fishing is possible at the local reservoir in Mostkov. Fishing is also possible during the season at the private POD TRIANGLEM pond in Oskava.

Culture and History

Rabštejn Castle was founded at the end of the 13th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1318. Oskava’s local history apparently includes gold panning and iron processing dating back to the 13th century; these activities may even date back to the Celtic or Great Moravian period.

The parish church of St. Florian in Oskava was consecrated in 1785. The Bedřichov district of Oskava has a neo-Gothic Church of St. Bedřich, built in 1869 and consecrated in 1872.

In Třemešek, the Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua was built in 1887 and reopened and consecrated after restoration on June 18, 2016. The Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua in Mostkov was consecrated in 1908; in 2018, its tower, roof, and façade were completely restored.

IDSOK bus route 204 connects Šumperk with Oskava via Hrabišín and Libina. IDSOK bus route 205 connects Šumperk with Oskava via Nový Malín.
