Postřelmůvek – Talrinne and Homole Volcanic Hill
The Homole volcanic hill is one of the defining landscape features of Postřelmůvek. The village lies at an altitude of 322 m in a valley depression. The eastern part of the cadastral area extends into the plain along the upper course of the Morava, while the western part occupies the first slopes of the Zábřeh Highlands. The summit and viewpoint of Homole are situated at an altitude of 516 m and have been owned by the municipality since 2019. From a tourism perspective, Postřelmůvek belongs to the Jeseníky mountain region.
The elevation of the village and the higher viewpoint thus mark two distinct levels of the landscape. To the east, the cadastral area opens onto the plain along the upper course of the Morava; to the west, the ascent to the first slopes of the Zábřeh Highlands begins. Homole links these geographical features with a distinctive volcanic hill and viewpoint.
Culture and Architectural Heritage
The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is a small, oriented brick building on a rectangular ground plan with a semicircular apse. Inside, it has a flat ceiling with stucco decoration and a masonry altar mensa.
The protected farm complexes No. 1 and No. 20 are examples of vernacular farm architecture. Farm complex No. 1 dates from 1851 and has an earth embankment and a façade articulated with lime plaster. Complex No. 20 is vernacular architecture from the mid-19th century of the cottager type; it includes a stable under the same roof. The religious building and the farm architecture therefore stand side by side as distinct examples of the built heritage.
Hiking
Homole is the third stop on the “Kopretinčina NS Svébohov” educational trail. From Homole, there are views towards Šumperk and Zábřeh, across the plains of the Pomoraví region, and towards landscapes shaped by the ridges of the Jeseníky Mountains. The educational trail and the viewpoints mentioned connect the volcanic hill with several geographical perspectives.
Cycling and Access
Cycle Route 6230 passes through Postřelmůvek on the section between Rovensko and Vyšehoří. The connecting road runs from Zábřeh via Rovensko and Postřelmůvek to Vyšehoří and then to the main road from Šumperk to Čechy. For planning purposes, the two transport links can be considered separately: the cycle route identifies a section between villages, while the road describes the connection through Postřelmůvek and onward to the main road.
