Třemošnice: Hotels and accommodations

Třemošnice can be explored through its cultural sites, the history of Lichnice, and several educational and cycling trails. The topics range from the Berlova vápenka Museum to the Lichnice–Kaňkovy hory National Nature Reserve.

Culture and history

At the Berlova vápenka Museum, visitors can read information panels, view display cases, and handle tools that were used in the limeworks. Group tours can also be arranged outside opening hours.

One of the central historical sights is Lichnice, a castle ruin built in the 13th century by Smil Světlický on a rocky ridge in Podhradí near Třemošnice. One of its towers houses the Milada lookout tower, which offers a view of the Čáslav Basin.

The Městská galerie Třemošnice is also part of the town’s cultural character. It was created by converting the attic rooms of a former school building and began operating on June 26, 1999. The exhibitions change monthly.

In the Božího Milosrdenství Park in Třemošnice, a stone cross stands at the site of the unrealized religious complex; from there, a path leads to a wooden cross. The park is named after an unrealized church.

Nature and educational trails

The Vlastivědná stezka Krajem Železných hor educational trail runs through the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area and the Lichnice–Kaňkovy hory National Nature Reserve. It is 22 km long and has 15 stops, including Lichnice and Třemošnice.

The Lichnice–Kaňkovy hory forest educational trail is 3 km long and leads from Třemošnice via Nouzov to Hedvikov. Information panels along the entire route show the animals and plants found there. The trail runs along surfaced forest roads of type 2L.

Part of the Třemošnice forest educational trail passes through the Hedvikovská rokle gorge along the Zlatý potok stream. Below Lichnice, the Lovětínská rokle gorge is also part of the Lichnice–Kaňkovy hory National Nature Reserve.

Cycling trails

Cycling route 4127 runs from Třemošnice via Prachovice and Heřmanův Městec to Kokešov. The route is 28.5 km long and moderately difficult. Cycling route 4233 connects Třemošnice and Pařížov via a 5 km-long, also moderately difficult connecting route.

Events

Motocross races for all age groups are held at the Kubíkovy Duby motocross site in Třemošnice.
