Džbánov: Hotels and Accommodations

The place name evolved from Čban through Čbánov to the present-day name Džbánov. In the 14th century, Džbánov and its surroundings belonged to Zbraslav Monastery. The old Bohemian noble family Džbánovští ze Džbánova originated in Džbánov. Its coat of arms featured a red shield with two crossed swords, their handles pointing upward; the crest consisted of three silver ostrich feathers.

Džbánov is home to numerous mature specimen trees that form part of the streetscape. Gardens and designated green spaces on the outskirts of Džbánov form the transition between the built-up settlement and the open landscape.

The bus service operated by ČSAD Ústí nad Orlicí, a.s., on route 700908 connects Vysoké Mýto, Džbánov, Bučina, Příluka, and Nové Hrady. The Džbánov u Vysokého Mýta stop is located on ČD line no. 016 between Choceň and Litomyšl and is approximately 1.4 kilometers from the village center.

The dense network of paved local roads in Džbánov is used for cycling tourism. The signposted Vysoké Mýto–Nové Hrady cycle route runs via Javorník and Džbánov onward to Knířov and Vysoké Mýto. It is approximately ten kilometers long and of moderate difficulty; descents and climbs alternate along a large part of the route.

The Džbánov municipal library has more than 1,000 books. Through interlibrary loan, thousands of additional volumes from the Vysoké Mýto City Library are also available, and the library offers free internet access.
