The square village green of Štichov is lined with houses that give the village a distinctive character. A hexagonal chapel stands on an artificially raised hill on the village green. It has a pyramid roof topped by a belfry with a cupola, as well as a cast-iron bell dating from 1826.

Culture and Villagescape

The traditional Štichov pilgrimage to Saint Margaret is celebrated in July. Next to the chapel, the Štichov monument commemorates the 10th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia; it bears a bust of T. G. Masaryk.

History

The former school building in Štichov, dating from 1912, is considered historically valuable. The Czech school in Štichov was closed on 14 February 1942 because of the small number of pupils, just 16 children.
