Pocinovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Pocinovice was once a privileged village of the Choden people of Domažlice and was first mentioned in 1325. To this day, historic architectural forms, ecclesiastical architecture, and the landscape in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest shape the appearance of the village.

Culture and History

One of Pocinovice’s defining landmarks is the Church of St. Anne. The late Baroque building has a tower with an onion dome that transitions at the top into an octagonal lantern. Traditional rural homesteads have also been preserved in the village; they were often built using log construction.

Pilgrimage

The pilgrimage site of Dobrá Voda, dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, is located near Pocinovice. It consists of a main chapel and a smaller chapel with a constantly flowing spring. Dobrá Voda is visited by pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.

Landscape and Surroundings

Pocinovice lies in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest. The surrounding area is predominantly characterized by agricultural and forested landscapes. Stangenruck, a mountain, Úliště [Javor - Loučany], a mountain, Lovečná, a mountain, and Jägerhübel, a mountain, are located in this area.

Places to Visit

An excursion route leads from Pocinovice via Orlovice and Orlovická Hora (Zlatá jáma) to the Jezvinec Nature Reserve. The Bayerwald-Tierpark Lohberg, a zoo, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Pocinovice.
