Mileč: Hotels and Accommodation
The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Mileč acquired its present form in 1764 on the site of an older sacred building, probably dating from the 14th century. It was built according to a design by the renowned Baroque architect Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. The historic organ in the church was built in 1764 by the Plzeň organ builder Leopold Rausch. It remained in a severely damaged condition with a high degree of authenticity until the beginning of the 21st century and was saved thanks to the initiative of the residents of Mileč.
Culture and History
The stone monument on the road from Mileč to Nepomuk has been restored; it was formerly known as “Boží muka”.
Landscape
The monument to the victims of the Thirty Years’ War north of Mileč offers a distinctive view of the landscape, particularly of Zelená Hora Castle and the town of Nepomuk.
The mighty Mileč linden tree stands in the heart of the village next to the historic gate of a farmstead.
Hiking and Cycling
The marked Nepomuk–Oselce hiking trail passes through Mileč, continues southwards to Maňovický rybník, and then heads southeast into wooded areas. Cycle Route 2041 Nepomuk–Plánice passes through Mileč, coming from Nepomuk to the north and continuing westwards to Plánice.
The annual route programme of the Nepomuk Club of Czech Tourists includes a 50-kilometre route that passes through Mileč.
Transport
Railway line 190 Plzeň–České Budějovice runs east of Mileč; a stop on this line is located about 1 kilometre south of the village. A Class III road branches off southwards, runs through Mileč, and then divides further to serve the settlements in the surrounding area.
