Sedlecko: Hotels and Accommodation

Sedlecko is located in the Berounka Nature Park. The park protects the landscape character of the deeply incised valley of the Berounka and its tributaries, the rocky outcrops, the adjacent woodland complexes, and the agricultural landscape. In the local cadastral area, below Sedlecko, lies the somewhat forgotten valley of the Lužnický Brook.

History of the Village

The first written mention of Sedlecko dates back to 1181. Since 1581, the village has belonged to the municipality of Smědčice. The original settlement of Sedlecko was restored after the sheepfolds of the Smědčice estate were abolished.

Surroundings

The Church of Svatý Martin and Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral are located in the vicinity of Sedlecko. Mount Radyně is also nearby. The immediate surroundings include Březí Hill [Smědčice] and Chlum Hill [Břasy-Kříše].

The wider regional area around Sedlecko includes Mount Berdovna and the ruins of Zřícenina Valdek and Týřov. The different spatial references thus range from the immediate surroundings to the wider regional area.

Paths and Transport

The Lužnické Cascades are accessible from several directions. Visitors from the holiday-home areas often use the path from Sedlecko; it allows for an extended walk in nature. The Lužnické Cascades reach a height of up to 5 metres.

Sedlecko railway station is integrated into the public transport system. The Sedlecko stop opened on 10 June 1908.
