Rokycany District: Hotels and Accommodation

The Dr. Bohuslav Horák Museum in Rokycany specializes in history, ethnography, paleontology, and natural sciences. Nature and Trails

The Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area extends into the former Rokycany District. In Křivoklátsko, forests cover 62 percent of the area; deciduous and mixed forests predominate.

The educational trail around the Padrť ponds can be accessed at various points and followed in any order. It focuses primarily on the natural values of the area while also covering the history of vanished villages, including Padrť, Přední and Zadní Záběhlá, and Kolvín. The Padrť region includes extensive open Brdy landscapes; around Dolejší Padrť Pond are peat bogs and species-rich wet meadows.

Strašice is the usual starting point for the hike to Lipovsko. At the Dům přírody Brd near Tři Trubky, an exhibition presents the Brdy Mountains, their history, legends, and rare inhabitants.

Orientation in Brdy

Camping is prohibited throughout the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, while bivouacking is permitted. There are no catering or other services within the protected area; visitors are therefore advised to bring food and drinks.

The car park in Strašice is an access point to Lipovsko, Tři Trubky, and the central Brdy area; access is from Rokycany. The car park in Skořice has toilets and an e-bike charging station and is an access point to the Padrť ponds and the central Brdy area.

Views and Trails in Rokycany

The Kotel viewpoint near Rokycany offers views toward Brdy, Šumava, Český les, Krušné hory, and České středohoří. From Rokycany railway station, the viewpoint can be reached via the blue hiking trail. Admission is free, and the viewpoint is open year-round.

U Plzeňské brány Park includes a labyrinth-shaped bench, a fountain, and, in hot weather, water play features for children. The park is located next to Rokycany railway and bus station.
