Nature and Trails
At 668 metres, Štědrý is considered the last foothill of the Brdy Mountains. Two tourist routes with information boards lead through the wooded landscape around Štědrý.
The Naučná stezka Štědrý educational trail leads from Opatský Pond in Vrčeň to Štědrý and has seven stations with educational information. The Stezka svatého Vojtěcha begins at Vyšehrad and leads through the Štědrý forest along part of the green-marked hiking trail. It ends near the Baroque Chapel of Saint Vojtěch and the Dobrá voda spring.
At the five information boards along the Stezka svatého Vojtěcha, visitors can learn basic information about the saint, who is associated with Vrčeň according to legend. The New Year's ascent of Štědrý is a traditional annual hiking trip in Vrčeň.
Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint Vojtěch lies about 1.5 km northeast of Vrčeň on the slope of the Chlumec forest, north of Road II/191 towards Rožmitál pod Třemšínem. A branch of the green-marked hiking route leads to it from the road. The chapel is an early Baroque octagonal central building and became a destination for many pilgrims as well as a stop on processions.
The Church of Saint Lawrence stands in a dominant position above the centre of Vrčeň. It is a single-nave building with a two-storey tower at the western end. The protected monument comprises the Church of Saint Lawrence and the grounds of the former cemetery.
On the village square in Vrčeň, the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk opposite the inn is among the town's valuable historical and artistic monuments. Another statue of the Virgin Mary near the fire station is also among these monuments.
Events and Local Traditions
The Vrčeň Beer Festival reached its third edition in 2026 and offered tastings of various types of beer. The Vojtěšská pouť has been a long-standing tradition in Vrčeň.
The Vrčeňská kuličkiáda is a recurring marble competition with four competition categories. The Memoriál Jana Chodory is a recurring fire sport competition in Vrčeň. The 23rd edition took place in 2023; there was also a 25th edition.
The Vrčeňské šplouchání features various creatively made watercraft, which are used or presented.
