The Koupaliště Borek natural swimming pool is located on U Studánky Street in Borek, immediately next to Mojský les and the Kyselá voda stream. The water quality there is maintained by biological filter lagoons without chemical additives. Koupaliště Borek includes a paddling pool and a children's playground; larger visitors can also enjoy a natural pool with a depth of up to 3.6 metres, a bathing jetty and a diving tower.

The Orty natural monument also includes the cadastral area of Borek u Českých Budějovic. The mining complex belonging to Orty covers an area of approximately 12 hectares and includes underground passages with a total length of more than 5.6 kilometres.

Paths and History

There are hiking paths on the edge of the Mojský les forest complex near the terminus. Forest paths with embankments and cuttings in the area around Borek are reminiscent of the former steam forest railway.

Borek originally developed as a mining settlement. Near the municipal office stands a simple wooden bell tower consisting of two posts. The former Schwarzenberg inn for travellers, No. 1, is a Classicist building dating from 1815 to 1816.

After the devastating storm of 1916, a steam forest railway was built to clear windthrown timber; it operated until approximately 1921.
