Culture and Village Character

The municipality of Hajany had the present-day Saint Anne’s Chapel built on the village green in 1900, replacing an older small brick chapel. This chapel is a defining feature of the well-maintained village green. In front of it stands an artistically crafted stone cross dating from 1859.

The gallery of the painter Ladislav Maria Wagner in Hajany can be visited by prior telephone appointment. The painter lives and works permanently in the South Bohemian village of Hajany.

Nature and Trails

One of the cycling routes from Blatná runs through the centre of Hajany. A white stork nesting site can be seen at house no. 8. Northeast of the village is a group of menhirs erected by Menhirostav.

On the old road to Řečice, you can see the Hajanský rybník pond and Velký kámen. Above Hajany, among pastureland, there is a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding pastures, meadows, and forests.
