Nature and Trails

A blue-marked hiking trail through the Písecké hory runs via Kluky between Na Křižatkách and Chřešťovice. Cycle Route 1016 runs through Kluky from Údraž via Mlaka and U Hromové jedle to Křižatka. Cycle Route 1017 connects Kluky with Písek and Albrechtice nad Vltavou via Chrastiny, Chřešťovice, Jehnědno and Údraž. The surroundings of Kluky are suitable for hiking and cycling.

History and Architectural Heritage

Kluky was first mentioned in writing in 1323. Ceramic fragments from the 13th century found in Kluky are recorded in the inventory book of the Písek Museum.

Construction of the Kostelík Panny Marie chapel in Kluky, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, began in 1947. In 1948, the chapel was completed together with the surrounding wall and cemetery fixtures.

House No. 18 in the centre of Kluky shows the influence of the so-called rural Baroque style. It was built around 1791 by Tomáš Fiala as a manor cottage on land owned by the estate owner. A monument to Jan Hus was erected in Hořice on the initiative of the teacher Jan Zoubek.

Events

A round of the Czech Junior Motocross Championship took place on 12 September at the Kloucká Hořice motocross track in Kluky u Písku.
