Mitrowicz Castle, formerly called Koloděje nad Lužnicí Castle, was built in 1565 as a small Renaissance manor house with a trapezoidal floor plan and a moat fed by the Lužnice River. The castle chapel of St. Anne has an interior richly decorated with frescoes; its ceiling fresco depicts the Virgin Mary and the Holy Trinity. The chapel also contains an organ dating from 1818.

The Jewish cemetery in Koloděje nad Lužnicí is the largest monument complex of its kind in the present-day South Bohemian Region. It contains the only tumba in South Bohemia, standing over the grave of a regional rabbi. Since the second half of the 18th century, Koloděje was the seat of the regional rabbinate of Bechyně and later of the rabbinical districts of České Budějovice and Tábor, as well as an important center of Jewish education.

The monument to Matěj Kopecký is also part of the local history. It stands in Koloděje nad Lužnicí, where the puppeteer died on July 3, 1847. The monument depicts a weeping Punch with a torn drum; it was unveiled on July 6, 1947, and created by the sculptor J. Jiříkovský. On the outskirts of Koloděje nad Lužnicí, in the direction of Týn nad Vltavou, there is also the Joseph II granary. It was built in 1771 as a grain storehouse to help prevent famines.

The grounds of Mitrowicz Castle are temporarily closed due to extensive construction work.
