Polzov: Hotels and Accommodation

At the northern edge of the planned village square, the built-up area has been preserved in Polžov. Several farmsteads in Polžov are scattered across the landscape.

History

Until 1387, Polžov belonged to the Lords of Velešín; it then passed to the Rožmberks. In 1459, Jan z Rožmberka sold Polžov to Mikuláš z Holkova for 2 kopy and 48 groschen. In 1553, four residents lived in Polžov: Ambrož, Jakub Jírovec, Jan Mikeš and Linhart Mráz. After the First World War, there were four adjoining farmsteads in Polžov; their areas apparently resulted from the division into four parts.

Landscape

„Polžov – U Pašinovického potoka“ is designated as a registered significant landscape feature in the Mokrý Lom–Polžov area. Todeňská hora hill is located in the vicinity of Polžov, which lies below this hill. The „Stráž [Ločenice] outlook p.“ hill is also located in the vicinity of Polžov.

The wider regional surroundings include Trosky mountain and Zaječí mountain.

Trails

A 3.5 km-long tour leads to Todeňská hora and includes the Oldřich Fencl lookout point. In 2017, a red-marked hiking route was designated in the settlement of Polžov.
