Nature and waterways

The Blanice Natura 2000 site (CZ 0313805) runs through the Kratušín area along the Blanice River. In the section near Kratušín, the Blanice is navigable for recreational boats, especially during the snowmelt. The river valley near Kratušín also contains preserved gold-washing tailings, which have been designated a national monument.

Cycling routes and excursions

Cycle route 1111 runs along the local roads of Kratušín. It is connected to other cycle routes in the Vlachovo Březí microregion. The Krajem Mistra Jana Husa excursion route also passes through Kratušín and Chlístov.

Culture and history

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a brick structure on an irregular hexagonal floor plan, oriented towards the north. A preserved chapel with a tower dating from the 18th century is a landmark of Kratušín. Next to the municipal office stands a preserved stone signpost at the historic crossroads.

The first written mention of Kratušín dates from 1389; the former name Kratošín was still used in the 17th century. Historically, Kratušín was administered by the owner of Hus Castle. The agricultural farmstead No. 8 in Kratušín is listed under reference number Č.r. 3605 II.
