Culture and history
The Church of the Name of the Lord Jesus in Křišťanov – the Jména Ježíš Church – was built in 1798–1799 and is a simple late Baroque building from the end of the 18th century. Křišťanov was founded near Prachatice in 1694.
Nature
The project area of the Blanice NPP includes the cadastral territory of Křišťanov. Part of Křišťanov's cultural landscape lies within the Šumava Protected Landscape Area.
At the Obora praturů, zubrů a bizonů reserve, visitors can use a wooden observation tower. From there, they can observe aurochs from a safe distance; European bison, American bison, as well as stags and hinds can also be seen.
Routes
Cycle Route 1250 passes through Křišťanov. Cycle Route 1252 leads from the junction near Křišťanov via Arnoštov and the Záhvozdský potok stream onward to Pernek.
From Prachatice, the footpath to Křišťanov follows a green-marked hiking trail; part of the route may run along the “Zlatá stezka” educational trail.
Getting there
Křišťanov can be reached by car from Prachatice via approximately 20 km and from Volary via 15 km, using Roads 141 and 165.
