Culture

The original settlement of Ktiš was founded before 1369 on the estate of Zlatá Koruna Monastery. The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Ktiš was originally Gothic and was remodeled in the Baroque style. On the slope of Ktišská hora are the Dobrá Voda Chapel and a Stations of the Cross; the stations form a circle approximately 50 meters in diameter. Chlumany, an ancient site, is also located in the vicinity of Ktiš.

Nature

The Miletínky Nature Reserve is located within the municipality of Ktiš. It protects relict stands of serpentine pines with juniper in the shrub layer. Ktišský rybník covers approximately 5 hectares, and natural bathing is possible there. The green-marked KČT hiking trail from Ktiš to Březovík runs along its dam.

The mountains of Vrata and Chlum are located in the immediate vicinity of Ktiš. Rohanovský vrch and Břevniště are also in the surrounding area.

Trails and Events

The yellow-marked Ktiš–Miletínky route was relocated to trails outside the Boletice military area. The municipality of Ktiš is the main organizer of the Open Air Fest Ktiš; the event takes place at the sports field behind the village in the direction of Volary. The Ktišská Bartolomějská pouť pilgrimage festival is accompanied by Bartolomějské markets and wooden carousels.
